Leisl began her dance training at the age of 3 at her mother’s dance studio in Voorhees NJ studying all genres of dance. While there, she competed on their competition team winning many regional and national awards as well as scholarships to summer studies and conventions. At the age of 9, Leisl joined the Voorhees Ballet Theatre where she performed in many ballets including The Nutcracker annually, Cinderella, Firebird, Coppelia, Snow White just to name a few. Leisl danced her way through High School at G.C.I.T as a dance major under the direction of David Kloss, Althea Leslie, and Norman Taylor. At the age of 13, Leisl decided that Ballet would be her main focus and started attending Summer Intensive programs including the Joffrey Ballet in NYC on a full scholarship and Central PA Youth Ballet. She was also accepted into the American Ballet Theatre’s summer program in NYC and First State Ballet Theatre’s summer program in Delaware. While in HS, Leisl decided to focus on teaching dance. She began teaching at her mother’s studio at the age of 16.
In college, Leisl studied Business Management. Currently she is the Assistant Director of the Voorhees Ballet Theatre, has her own photography business, Leisl Elisabeth Photography, specializing in dance photography, and teaches ballet, tap, jazz, modern, and acrobatics.
