Rachel Canonica

Rachel began her dance career at DANCE! By Debra DiNote where she studied Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Modern, and Musical Theater. As a DANCE! Workshop member, she participated in many community services performances and competitions. Over the years, Rachel also performed in many productions, including lead roles as The Fairy Godmother in “Once Upon a Glass Slipper” and Dorothy in “Over the Rainbow”. Rachel also received multiple scholarships as a Workshop member, which helped her to further her dance career. Rachel attended Southern New Jersey Academy for Performing Arts at GCIT for high school. Here, she was able to perform in works choreographed by many local artists including David Kloss, Norman Taylor, and Marissa Stahl. Upon graduation in 2013, Rachel received a Certificate in Dance. Rachel attended Rowan University where she minored in dance. She took classes in all styles, but focused in Modern and Dance Education classes. This is Rachel’s fourth season with DANCE! and she is so excited to continue to fulfill her dream of inspiring young dancers.
